Moving house is a big headache. We need to get boxes.Find a realible and responible movers.Cos they're the one who will handle our valuable and fragile things. We would not want to have our things damage or loss dying the process. We might be getting our keys in March and now we have start to pack some things.Mum' trip to Kelantan and my trip to Cambodia,we sure waste about 2 weeks in February for not doing packing. We need to clear the house by March when we collect the keys.Below is some tips I found on the net :)
Are your desks, cupboards, drawers emptied?
Are your supply cabinets cleared?
Are all wall items removed and labelled?
Are breakable items properly packed?
Have you backed up computer data on disks?
Are your computer components properly disconnected and labelled?
Are all liquids drained from your equipment?
Are your desks and chairs labelled?
Are the furniture not to be moved clearly marked?
Have you done the following before your actual move?
Label all cartons with their basic contents and their designated rooms. Each carton has to be sealed securely with packing tape and be sure all items are well padded and fit snugly in the carton or container.
Lampshades has to be packed in separate cartons.
Wrap dishes individually with paper or air-bubble materials.
Movable parts attached to appliances and stereos has to be secured properly or place these appliances into their original cartons.
Small appliances should be well padded and packed snugly in cartons. The weight of each carton should not exceed 20kg.
Freezer and refrigerator has to be defrosted, cleaned and deodorised prior to the move.
Inventorise all your items for the move.
Discard, sell or give away things you won’t want to keep.
Return all library books and borrowed items.
Use or get rid of perishable items.
Go to any police post to effect change of address, and as their system is linked to all government bodies, your new address will be updated accordingly. In addition, you should notify your lawyer, doctor, magazine & newspaper distributor, bank & finance companies, credit & charge card companies, employer, friends, etc., about your change of address.
Arrange with relevant authorities to cut-off utilities and telephone lines.
Make arrangements for moving of your pets.
Generally, self packing will take about 2 weeks to complete. As such, start your packing as early as possible.
It is important to set aside essential items for easy access, eg. Medicine, clothing, infant food, pet-food, cheque books.
Lastly, Have fun packing :p

My EX- room
In the current house I have shifted room for like 3 times..tasted all the room in the house...MBR,common room..Below is the picture of my EX...my ex- room lor lol...
FIRST ROOM,FIRST MOVE IN
Lime green brings a fresh look of my room..
2ND ROOM,MBR..this is when I become a landlord..where I rented out the other 2 rooms..aka
'THE LANDLORD ROOM'
Before furniture start to move in..bad combination of colors..
I like the cozy ambient..lights do makes wonder..
MY 3RD ROOM AKA MY CURRENT ROOM
My hardly use Bravia
Messy part of the room..not enough space to put my wardrobe..
Messy again..haizzz
Please LIGHT up my room...
I love lights,it can brings you a cozy, warm, bright ambient to the house.I love to have a cozy ambient but Mum doesn't like warm orange light as it will be hot..she prefer brighter..So too combine our preference,we will have white downlight in the living and dining plus ceiling fan with white lights in the living room. For dining we will add on a warm hanging light to it,maybe a chandelier,,still deciding though..Maybe a 3 hanging lights in a row.The thing about chandelier..is pretty hard to manage if its gets dusty, the metal chain may corrode, the crystal may drop...haizzz...but it brings up luxurious feeling to the room..Anyway below this is what I plan to have for my new place.
This may fit in my kitchen and store room
Kinda cool..but too simple for my dining
A bit of crystal ball hanging..not bad the price kinda steep for just one light..will KIV..
This ceiling fans with lights is nice for my living,MBR,Mum room...although the new house have system 4 air con but we don't depend on air-con too much.Especially Mum,she can't stand cold..lol..Oh yeah I'm getting the remote control one, enough of the strings type..it's easily broken and to replace it,cost around $50....
Simple but too simple...
Nice but a bit messy for me..but will KIV..
Will be planning to buy my PLC downlights, ceiling fans with lights, lightings in JB..it's cheaper there though.A ceiling fan with LED light(white/blue) cost ard RM$380 which is around SGD$160...LED downlight for RM$45...the shop can lower down the price in your receipt so that when you pay the 7% GST to Singapore Custom, it will not be that much.. :]
Rubbish Bin I need You...
Our new house will have rubbish chute near the lift corridor. After 20 years of having rubbish chute in the house,I wonder if we can get use to throw the rubbish out of the house. The good thing of having rubbish chute outside is less smelly,no cockroaches...(hopefully)..the bad things...wastage cannot be kept too long in the house before it gets smelly...This is what I plan...
Typical new flat with rubbish chute in the common area
Saw this stainless steel bin at giant..good to be place in the corner of the kitchen but I prefer to hide it below the cabinet...
Just with a pedal....Tadahh the lid is open...lol
This waste organization bin at IKEA seems too complicated for me..cannot afford a place to recycle all the waste...bah..
This built in waste bin is superb. With the lid to cover..guest doesn't know it's a bin underneath..Good to be place beside the sink..Heard it's selling at $150..need to discuss with my ID to place this bin :]
The metal lid can be open so you can wrap your plastic bag to it
A little greenery in our Living
I love greenery but to maintain them,hmmm...mum like to take care of it...Mum gonna bring her 15 pots of plants to be place at our new house corridor. Her plants like curry leaves,chilli,pandan,etc...makes her entertain..She even talk to the plants that she will promise to take them to the new place provided they grow well..lol..Mum says plants is also a living things so they do have feeling too..which I believe it's true..
Anyway we plan to put this artificial plant in the corner of our living/dining room..this will add a bit of greenery to our place. The only cons of artificial plants even though you need not need to water them is the collection of dust...so we had to use the feather duster from time to time to keep the dust away.Price is not bad below $200...
This looks nice if being place in dining table..White flowers is pure and bring simplicity..
Harvey Norman Warehouse sale
Suddenly feels like reading the saturday papers.Bought straits time and I was like shouting to my mum like a 5 years old kid..."Mum they're having sale, fridge for $699,32" tv for $438.blah blah blah".So after my night shift on sunday morning..we head down to Benoi road for the Harvey Norman warehouse sale...during the date itself from 15-16 january 2011,there's so many ongoing sales in conjunction with CNY..so we grab the chance. We took a taxi there since my brother was working and only finish at 5pm..and the sale end at 6pm...we decided to go on our own...no car but die die must go and see see..typical singaporean huh..so in the end this is what we bought:
1) samsung 506 litres side by side fridge @ $850 with 5 years warranty add on (white, cos we plan to have our kitchen cabinet and flooring in black or dark colour,so the white fridge might give a bit of contrast to our kitchen)
2) Foldable mattress @ $29.90 (in case there's guest/relative sleep over or during mum's massage/theraphy session)
3)04 nos Akemi pillow @ $15.90 for set of 2.We took 2 set,the pillow protector we bought in courts earlier for $9 for 2.
4)32" JVC LCD tv for mum's bedroom @ $436 with 3 years warranty, with karoke function, only HD ready since we already had our 46" plasma in the living. This TV is for mum to watch TV3 or Indonesian channel by using the old fashion antenna. Not getting mine since my bravia is working fine..hardly see Tv in my room.
5) Hitachi standing fan @ $119,rp $169.With 3D oscillation, ionizer, floral design, with a slot to put my fragrance..This will be place in my dining room.Living hall,MBR,Mum's room we will get ceiling fan with light, will be buying in JB.. :]
Wanted to buy more but sadly we got no more hands to carry..Maybe we will wait for the next sale..hehehe.
Tv and fan which I carry from the warehouse to find a taxi on the main road and Mum with the pillow and mattress....

Side view of the fridge, simple but in white..so need to maintain frequently..
Hitachi standing fan with ionizer,3D oscillation, floral design and stop function so when kid touch it,the blade stop...cool huh lol
