Lightings made me go Mad!!!

Last week when to JB, bought 3 nos 60" ceiling fans with led light (white and blue).With 8 speed and remote control and cos me $399RM which is about SGD$157 each!!! Luckily we went through the custom and no need to pay tax :]

It's a DEKA brand made in Malaysia according to the sales assistant just pay around $35 for transport for servicing in Singapore.Dunno whether it's true but a $157 ceiling fan with lights and remote make me go WOW...lol..btw it's 5 years warranty and 10 years on motor..Like the design because it have black blade,one for my room,living room,guest room,mum's will choose another model though...

wanted this chandelier original price RM$980..now RM$580 which is around SGD$247 for a crystal chandelier??? OMG..lol.Their PLC 6" downlights cost RM$40 with 2 tube light around SGD$16...

After discusiing with my reno buddy and commented by my sister in law that for modern contemporary design might not match so I thought of the lights below,get the source from online lighting shop in Singapore and the price is very reasonable :]

 To be place at my dining area....my dining set will be black whole wall will be while and the L-Box cornice will accompany this light..call "ANGEL 36061" the model name.It looks gorgeous....

So I made my choice dining light buy online and PLC downlights,rest of the lights to buy in JB this coming thursday..unless JB got cheaper dining light..maybe I would buy lol

Wall clock

Was talking to my reno buddy,yati about wall clock.She show me this picture.Indeed it will be very beautiful if place in living/dining wall..it fills up the blank space if you don't intend to hang pictures/frame.Heard it's being sold at artfriend but the thing you need to DIY...need to reckee soon.. :]

Back to 'business'

After the long CNY weekends,after mum kelantan trip.After my Cambodia trip..now back to reality..to resume back on my reno works.This time will be busy,stress and full of worry for the next weeks and months coming..tmr will mak arrangement with my ID to visit my new place to do site measurement,discussion on alterations to current plans,etc...Hope the ID I had picked is a realible person..Anyway if it not too late..'GONG XI FA CAI' :)

3.82% interest for HDB 2nd loan????

Yup that's what I get during my 1st appointment.This will be my 2nd HDB loan the officer told me the interest rate for my new resale flat will pegged at 3.82%.it sounds crazy and bank rates can offer cheaper than that.I've asked the officer why I was pegged at 3.82% instead of the normal 2.6% but he seems not be able to explain so I guess maybe it's up to HDB discretion on the amountloan granted and their interest rates.So after a few days I tried to call the HDB mainline..to check on my resale application status..n suddenly I just query again on the interest rate.I have spoken to 2 different officers and their reply is the same.According to them even for 2nd HdB loan,I will still have a conssesiorary rate of 2.6%.I was shocked to hear this and they told me to talk to my officer in charge.when my officer called me I ask him again how come my interest is pegged at 3.82% instead of 2.6% and he just answered yes.mine at 3.82%.so I asked him gain for 2nd time explaining to him I'm using my 2nd Hdb loan and the loan they offered is higher than certain banks.then finally he said hold on for a while.he finally then said "ohh I can do it for you straight away to 2.6% so when are you free to come down again"...

The things I have learnt sometimes people do makes mistakes even how high his/her position is.If you feel something is not right and you have done your part to ask around,question them again.if my officer don't give my 2.6% interest rate I would have see MP to appeal on my case.Confirmed the officer will be in trouble.lol.since he had given me the interest rate that's mean I will have lower monthly installment,I will just let the matter rest :)

A CNY short break

Mum had left for kelantan yesterday..not kelantan lane but kelantan/terranganu in Malaysia..lol only left me to do the packing haizz...kinda lazy...after mum be back on Sunday,it's my turn to leave for my Cambodia trip on 07/03 Monday...few more days to go but dunno why I don't feel excited this time..maybe I'm occupied with my house thingy for these past 1 month and was excited more on my house reno journey than my cambodia trip..but I have fly off since tickets been bought perhaps the short trip will give me more ideas on my reno plan...lol..Anyway wishing A prosperous Lunar New Year and a Happy ling weekend to all..Gong Xi Fa Cai... :)

Citygas water heater and last decision of Furniture shopping

After our 1st appointment with HDB,we went to Citygas gallery at woodlands civic plaza.I ordered a water gas heater,after so much time comparing  using instant water heater,electric storage heater and water gas heater..My chosen one will be water gas heater from citygas.It's a Rinnai brand,price @ $128  plus $60 installation charge to your bills.Retail price at $298,since the promo ends on this 31/01..I took my chance to grab it.I asked the salesgirl whether it's ok to install rain shower and she told it would not be any problem and none of her customer had complaint.So I just took the chance.Will tell you more on the rainshower thingy on my next post..lol.We do look at the cooker hob and hood so we estimated what the price roughly,it will confirm be a black tempered glass top cooking hob and a chimney hood...lol..using a chimney hood do occupy your cabinet space but the suction power is stronger so less cooking smell in the kitchen :]


After placing order of water heater,we went to 5th floor of woodlands civic centre...'The Green Furnishing', told my mum..we will just be looking and do not place order first.So we take a look saw a few sofa but not to our liking,I told the salegirl is there any half leather sofa but then she told us they had a sofa on offer now.I always felt sofa on offer will not catch my eye.So she show us this black grey sofa,it's made of synthetic cloth which is kind of expensive fabric.Mum sits on it,and me too...gosh we feel comfortable with it and it suit our budget @ $1279 although we're aiming for the armadio sofa at courts.The normal price is $1899.So after deciding without the salegirl pushing us,btw her name is Hazel..she never push us to buy,very patient..so we agree to it.Then we look at the coffee table,we pick a black tempered glass top with white base.It's bigger in size around 43" and it's modern looking,we decide to grab it cos although we live 2 person,when there's guests we would not be panicking on where to put the drinks.Cos I do notice nowadays most of home owners choose smaller coffee table because most have a bar counter concept in their living.


So we joke around if we take a dining table,would she give us discount,so she reply she will try her best and show us this dining table..cost around $600 for a set of 4 chairs but I'm not comfortable caused the chair base feel flimsy.I prefer a solid chair,with a broader chair support cos we planning to put the dining set behind the sofa so that the guests can watch the TV comfortably without shifting to the sofa.So she show us the 2nd set,comes with a extend able black tempered glass top.She suggest since there's 2 of us we choose this table and when guests come we will extend the table so it will not take many space.Brilliant we like it.But for the chair that comes with it I'm not pretty comfortable so I look around for other chairs where I can match..saw this chair which caught my eyes.A black crocodile like texture chair with diamonds sticking on it.Hazel bring over the chair to the dining table that we want and guess what it match and she even says I got a good taste.lol sometimes this sale person knows how to please you.Yes indeed it matched and mum like it even though she's not comfortable with crocodile texture but the seat is comfortable.Price for one chair is $199 and we took 6 with the dining table cost us $1299 instead of $1899..haizz exceed our budget but then we're comfortable with the combination of the sofa,coffee table and dining set.Hazel give us a free clothes hanger to be place in  my mum's room.


After that we intend to go for lunch to take away and went to the bazzar at woodland MRT open space,skipped the causewaypoint cos I don't want to be hook on other things..lol.As we walk around there was this carpet store.Mum was looking at this carpet with materials sticking out some sort like shaggy carpet but finer.I was surprise she keen on this type of design, I saw the price tag stated normal price is $199 and now selling at $100.It's a small to medium size carpet but just nice for our coffee table and sofa and yesss we picked a grey color which match our sofa..We are happy with the picks and we can't wait to see how our new home look like.I can see mum is happy and I hope she will be happy like this all the time.Dad..PS: Although you have left us for almost a year but I will promise to take care of mum like you did.RIP dad..We love you...

24th January 2011..Our First Appointment

This is the date I will never forget,went to HDB for my 1st appointment.Me,mum,my agent,the buyers,the sellers and their agents.0945am is our appointment.After having a hearty meal at Ya Kun Kaya Toast, our numbers being called up.I'm feeling nervous but excited.Sign so many documents,the officer verify so many documents and luckily I had prepare the photocopy of it.So no time wasted..off to see the officer,Mr Teo Cher Meng,room 116 of resale department.Officer explains on my financial status,procedures,insurance,what to do before the 2nd appointment.So when everything sign,need to made some payment for caveat,legal fees,confirm my 2nd appointment will be on 07th March 2011.Wohoo..I can't wait for the date but owner tell me she might give me the keys earlier on 21st Feb...Hope my resale transaction will go smooth..
